Role Summary
Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) based in California, focused on advancing IDEAYA’s medical and scientific objectives within a defined geographic region. The role serves as a primary scientific communicator, building credible, peer-level relationships with key opinion leaders and other stakeholders. You will provide deep scientific insights, educational support, and facilitate collaborations across development stages, while ensuring compliance with internal SOPs and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of scientific content, educational materials, disease state knowledge, and therapeutic area expertise to establish your credibility as a trusted scientific authority
- Partner with physicians to advance Medical Affairs initiatives including publications, medical education, and advisory boards
- Deliver up-to-date scientific education and insights on IDEAYA disease states, the evolving therapeutic landscape, and IDEAYA's products across the development lifecycle to healthcare and allied healthcare professionals
- Effectively communicate clinical insights from new scientific data back to Medical Affairs in order to support the development of therapeutic area strategy
- Support research initiatives in collaboration with IDEAYA’s Clinical Research team. Responsibilities may include site evaluation and identification, patient recruitment support, participation in investigator meetings, identification of external experts, and management of collaborative research partnerships
- Collect data and derive scientific insights from stakeholder engagements, delivering actionable feedback to the organization
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MD, PharmD or PhD) in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, or other medical related disciplines preferred
- 2-5 years or more of relevant experience, with Oncology as a preferred therapeutic area
- Demonstrated ability to comprehend and effectively communicate extensive scientific information in a clear, concise, and accessible manner
- Exemplifies a strong patient-centric and customer-focused approach, grounded in the highest standards of medical professionalism
- Proven excellence in both oral and written communication
- Agile, adaptable, results orientated
Additional Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reside within 50 miles of a major airport
- Applicants must be willing to travel approximately 60–70% of the time
- Must reside in CA
