Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr MSL) β Pain Program (near-term launch)
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops and fosters effective relationships with Thought Leaders and engages other (allied) HCPs and stakeholders involved in clinical practice decision-making for pain conditions.
- Uses pain expertise to understand inter-relationships across academic centers and integrated delivery networks to enhance engagements.
- Applies the SEM (Scientific Engagement Model) to all interactions.
- Incorporates the medical plan into interactions and territory planning; captures feedback in CRM to inform internal stakeholders and medical strategy.
- Uses CRM/data analytics tools for time-sensitive capture and to enhance future TL engagements and manage workload.
- Communicates clinical, scientific, and health economic information compliantly at an advanced level to external stakeholders.
- Demonstrates knowledge of pharmacists, P&T committees, payers, and Integrated Delivery Networks, including payer impact on patient care.
- Supports clinical development/operations by using IB content, presenting at SIV meetings, providing trial site nominations, and reviewing end-of-study data with investigators.
- Represents the company at medical congresses (scientific session/abstract coverage, booth staffing, summaries; may serve as βMSL congress leadβ).
- Mentors/trainers less experienced colleagues; assists with new hire MSL onboarding.
- Conducts activities in compliance with company policies and completes administrative tasks (e.g., CRM entry, mileage, expenses, calendars, training).
Knowledge/Skills
- Training/experience with pain-related medical conditions.
- Meets goals within timeframes; manages projects in changing field environments; creates innovative solutions.
- Appraises/comprehends medical and scientific literature.
- Presents clinical/scientific information credibly in varied settings.
- Knows assigned territory; understands healthcare regulatory environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; works effectively in matrix environments.
- Applies disease/disease management protocols, healthcare environment knowledge, and competitor awareness.
- Demonstrated compliance/regulatory framework understanding.
- Knowledge of payers and Health Economics & Outcomes Research; supports access and appropriate use of medicines.
- Fluent in English and local language (oral/written).
Requirements
- Advanced biomedical/life sciences degree (e.g., MS, NP, PA); PhD/PharmD/MD desirable.
- Typically 5+ years as an MSL or in other pharma/biotech medical affairs roles (or equivalent education/experience).
Additional
- Field-based regions in the North West; must live within the identified territory near an airport and travel routinely.
Pay Range (as stated)
- $171,300 - $256,900
