Senior Medical Science Liaison - Midwest (Chicago, Indianapolis, Detroit)

Role: Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) within Medical Affairs, serving as a scientific expert to engage with healthcare professionals and Key Opinion Leaders on uniQure’s gene therapy products. Objectives include advancing scientific understanding, fostering KOL relationships, supporting clinical and educational initiatives, and ensuring compliant medical communication. Responsibilities encompass deep product and therapeutic area expertise, responding to medical inquiries, supporting investigator-sponsored studies and clinical studies, representing Medical Affairs at conferences, and collaborating cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, Market Access, and other internal teams. Qualifications: Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD), 4+ years biotech or MSL experience, with preference for gene therapy, neurology, or rare diseases backgrounds. Skills include relationship building, data interpretation, scientific communication, project management, and regulatory knowledge. High-value specifics: focus on gene therapy, rare diseases, clinical research, and medical education; regional travel up to 50%; reporting to the Executive Director, Field Medical. Work setup: primarily field-based in the US, with up to 50% travel including to Lexington office.
