Role Summary
Senior Manufacturing Process Technician - Night Shift (12 Hour) responsible for operating automated packaging manufacturing equipment, troubleshooting faults, and ensuring product quality in a GMP environment. The role involves cross-training across equipment such as automated, assembly, labeling, printing, and robotic automation, with a focus on maintaining line uptime and safety while supporting continuous manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Under limited supervision, perform equipment setup, operation, and troubleshoot to meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
- Maintain machine uptime, clear faults, and resolve line stoppages on automated equipment.
- Perform basic, routine manufacturing operations such as dispensing raw materials, material reconciliation, line clearance, basic analytics, and record transactions.
- Assist in review of documentation for assigned areas (procedures, job plans, logs, area audits, batch records).
- Assist as a training resource on manufacturing tasks and equipment use.
- Use HMIs to identify alarms and correct line stoppages.
- Ensure components and products are available for continuous operation.
- Conduct equipment inspections and generate emergency, corrective, or preventative work orders as needed in the Maximo system.
- Troubleshoot mechanical errors, safety issues, or inefficiencies within production processes.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive improvement opportunities.
- Use computer systems to support material inventory (SAP) transactions and electronic batch records.
- Oversight of equipment/process validation protocols independently.
- Follow SOPs including material handling, record keeping, assembly and packaging; adhere to GMPs.
- Report discrepancies to ensure quality and safety of operations.
- Train fellow staff on manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Support operations in non-standard shifts including weekends and/or holidays as needed.
Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma and 2 years of technical experience in Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, or Packaging environment.
- Required: Or Associate’s degree and 6 months of technical experience in Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, or Packaging environment.
- Preferred: Ability to follow written procedures; capability to diagnose malfunctions and perform equipment setup; educational background in Mechanical, Electronic Engineering Technology, or Industrial Mechanics; experience in GMP, Medical Device, or Biotech manufacturing; ability to use SAP and electronic batch records; attention to detail and independence; ability to work in cross-functional teams; experience with highly automated equipment, HMIs, and discrete component assembly; good documentation and inventory skills.
Education
- High school diploma with 2 years of relevant experience or Associate’s degree with 6 months of relevant experience in Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, or Packaging environment.
