Senior Manager Utilities Engineering

What You Will Do
- Lead Utilities Engineering teams and provide technical leadership supporting 24/7 operations.
- Build the Utilities Engineers team; main point of contact for Utilities Engineering.
- Support start-up of site utility systems and transfer ownership to F&E utilities team.
- Develop long-term technical support strategy for installed systems/equipment (including CMMS setup).
- Define goals/objectives and budgets for utility engineering services (mechanical, HVAC, etc.).
- Ensure utility engineering programs align with cGMP, safety, and local/global regulations.
- Ensure procedures are in place and followed by area personnel/contractors.
- Ensure safety across construction, start-up, and maintenance on multiple shifts.
- Lead site utility operations (electrical and HVAC) and ensure system ownership for GMP and non-GMP utilities.
- Manage maintenance programs, spare parts, validation support, training materials, and operating procedure adherence.
- Ensure readiness/compliance for audits and partner visits.
- Lead continuous improvement (safety, reliability, efficiency, sustainability); maintain/improve capability and reliability.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, EHS, and Engineering.
- Lead complex utilities initiatives/projects and capital project execution.
- Set expectations/priorities; develop staff; maintain KPIs; supervise/assess and ensure milestones are on time/on budget.
- Participate in Utilities budgeting/forecasting and manage expenditures.
- Up to 10% domestic/international travel.

What We Expect Of You
Basic Qualifications
- Doctorate + 2 years engineering experience, OR Master’s + 6, OR Bachelor’s + 8, OR Associate’s + 10, OR HS/GED + 12; plus 2 years managerial experience directly managing people and/or leading teams/projects/programs/resources.

Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years Utility engineering in biotech/pharma/regulatory environments.
- 3+ years compliance experience in a highly regulated environment.
- Interpersonal/facilitation; collaborate in team-based environment; prioritize and lead multiple tasks.
- Direct knowledge of GMP/non-GMP utilities (PW, WFI, Clean Steam, Clean Compressed Air, Process Gases; waste management, electrical, boiler room, chilled water, plant steam, industrial gases, HVAC, compressed air).
- Strong CMMS knowledge; analyze/improve facilities quality systems.
- Mentor engineering staff; strong leadership, technical writing, and communication/presentation skills.
- Flexibility for 24/7 operations and occasional after-hours coverage.
