Role Summary

The Senior Manager, U.S. Events & Meetings Consultant Engagements role drives business-centric partnerships and collaborates with key leaders and operational teams within Compliance, Legal, Risk Operations, IT, US Medical and Commercial stakeholders, and global partners. This role manages the end-to-end strategic engagement planning and execution of Consultant Engagements, including tiering, FMV, contracting, logistics, payments, transparency reporting, risk management, and ensures compliance with consultant engagement processes across BMS. The position drives performance excellence and continuous improvement for Consultant Engagements, aligning to business priorities and delivering best-in-class HCP customer engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Thinking and Planning
    • Create business impact by combining a deep understanding of healthcare trends with an enterprise-wide perspective to identify strategic opportunities for breakthrough performance.
    • Influence senior leaders and partner with US Medical/Commercial business stakeholders to strategize and guide best-in-class HCP customer engagement.
    • Oversee and manage budget to ensure optimal and effective utilization of resources.
    • Drive effective business partnership between Events & Meetings team and US teams in strategy development, investment decision making, and tactical planning for HCP/Consultant Programs.
    • Lead the matrix team of key stakeholders to drive effective execution of Consultant Engagements.
    • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across all processes and systems used for Consultant Engagements.
    • Establish and deliver key metrics on Consultant Engagements to Business Partners.
    • Foster a Speak My Mind and growth mindset culture.
    • Potential to manage direct reports.
  • Execution Excellence
    • Provide guidance and coaching, and assume accountability for consultant engagement execution

Qualifications

  • Minimum of BA/BS degree; Master’s degree/MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in medical, commercial, business operations, and/or related functions; healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated capability in team leadership within a matrix culture.
  • Acute business acumen and understanding of the Consultant Engagement landscape.
  • Strong affinity for engaging with medical and commercial stakeholders to address their needs, considering varying perspectives for optimal business outcomes.
  • Strategic experience developing and executing Consultant Engagements with HCPs and attendee groups; tactical program implementation experience.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership in creating and managing complex project plans with on-time delivery.
  • Problem-solving ability with root cause analysis and matrix-team collaboration.
  • Confidentiality commitment.
  • Software proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Veeva Event Management; Vendor Contracting System; Ariba; SAP; Workfront; Icertis; Compass.
  • Travel: 10-20% domestic travel.
