Role Summary

The Senior Manager, U.S. Market Research leads strategy-driven market research projects and delivers actionable insights to support strategic product planning and marketing decisions. The role requires deep understanding of brands, therapeutic areas, and the ability to synthesize data from multiple sources into clear recommendations. It involves collaboration with product teams, vendor management, and proactive identification of new data sources and tools to enhance customer insights.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages strategy-driven market research projects in accordance with internal compliance policies and best practices; ensures interpretation of primary market research yields meaningful, actionable, differentiating insights.
  • Consolidates insights from primary market research, forecasting, analytics, and competitive intelligence into actionable recommendations.
  • Develops analyses to support strategic product planning, including situational analyses, market research for positioning, and testing promotional concepts and messaging.
  • Collaborates with product teams to create and manage the budget for primary market research projects.
  • Keeps abreast of market developments and competitive activity.
  • Proactively seeks out and evaluates new data sources, tools, and research partners to enhance customer insights and the effectiveness of marketing plans.
  • Manages research vendors and resources.
  • Contributes to a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative environment; supports the business through thought leadership, analytical capabilities, and clear communication of complex information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: 5+ years of insight-driven qualitative and quantitative market research project scoping and management; masters degree or equivalent preferred. A combination of experience and/or education will be considered.
  • Required: Subject matter expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies; advanced knowledge of study design; ability to assess vendor capabilities and manage risks; ability to synthesize analysis into concrete strategic recommendations and enable commercial decision making.
  • Required: Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional partners; ability to present succinct analyses with clear business implications.
  • Required: Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Required: Proficiency in clear collaboration and communication.
  • Required: Ability to solve problems using analytical reasoning and quantitative concepts; capacity to draw inferences and follow procedures to solve moderately complex problems.

Additional Requirements

  • Typically sitting at a desk or table; intermittent walking or standing.
  • Periodic travel is required (less than 10%).
  • Remote work acceptable.
