Role Summary

Senior Manager, PMO and Project Management at AbbVie. Accountable for governance and execution of the project management office, leading a team of project managers to standardize processes, govern projects, track metrics, and drive capacity forecasting and resource planning across manufacturing, quality, systems, and business processes. Onsite role requiring presence five days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional project teams from initiation to closure, managing stakeholder relationships, milestone tracking, problem resolution, and delivering desired outcomes.
  • Develop and manage the PMO toolkit, templates, processes, and improvements in collaboration with the project management team and stakeholders.
  • Oversee capacity management: build the capacity tool, establish monthly processes, forecast capacity, and negotiate intake of future projects.
  • Manage and motivate the project management team; coach, mentor, and train on project management best practices, processes, and templates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; preferred disciplines: Sciences, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain or Business Management.
  • 6-10 years business experience, preferably in a regulated environment. Direct people management experience.
  • Accredited LSS Green Belt or Kaizen Leader Certification required; PMP preferred.
  • Financial acumen and ability to assess project return on investment.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and conflict resolution skills.
  • Influence leadership, project management team and peers while working towards common goals.
  • Well-organized, result-focused, capable of managing multiple projects and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including MS Project.
  • Ability to build a professional project management team and create a positive, open, transparent, and engaging work environment.
