Patient Advocacy
Responsibilities
- Lead execution of therapeutically aligned patient advocacy strategy in assigned therapeutic areas.
- Apply/adapt governance and methodologies for engagement with advocacy/professional societies; improve processes.
- Collaborate with Medical, Commercial, Market Access, Policy, and Clinical Development to support advocacy strategy.
- Deliver measurable improvements in disease awareness, time to diagnosis, clinical trial awareness, access, and patient experience.
- Evolve therapeutic area advocacy strategies and operating plans (education, disease awareness, advisory boards, patient speakers, clinical trial awareness, relevant policy initiatives).
- Lead development/execution of advocacy campaigns; ensure partner plans align to goals and compliance standards.
- Coordinate/design patient advisory boards and insight-generation; ensure outputs are accurate, inclusive, and compliant; disseminate insights.
- Serve as trusted advisor to leaders; create materials/presentations articulating patient impact and risks.
- Represent company at advocacy meetings, conferences, and coalition activities; identify collaboration opportunities.
- Monitor policy/access topics impacting patient communities; partner on advocacy positions.
- Build long-term partnerships with patient advocacy and professional societies; act as responsive point of contact.
- Drive cross-functional alignment and execution; co-create plans with Alliance partners.
- Lead patient voice initiatives (advisory boards, listening sessions, storytelling) to inform development/commercialization.
- Track engagement metrics, manage budgets, and report outcomes.
- Strategically fund patient engagement/disease education programs; act as grant reviewer; ensure compliant, transparent stewardship.

This Role Requires
- Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree a plus: MPH, MS, MA in Communications/Health Policy).
- 8+ years in biopharma/biotech or patient organizations (patient advocacy/community engagement).
- Experience building high-trust partnerships; translate insights into action.
- Strong project management for multi-stakeholder programs/events.
- Excellent written/verbal/presentation skills and executive presence.
- Working knowledge of clinical development, real-world evidence, market access, and compliance for patient interactions.
- Comfortable in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.

Preferred
- Experience in rare diseases, oncology, hematology, and/or cardio-metabolic.
