This is a hybrid role; must be able to work onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
Core Accountabilities
- Lead the development and execution of Oncology internal communications strategy.
- Define audience segmentation strategies and channel approaches for HQ and field employees.
- Build and maintain annual communications plan, calendar, and messaging roadmaps aligned to business priorities.
- Establish governance, standards, and operating models to improve consistency and reduce reactive requests.
- Create communication frameworks, tools, and templates for scalable communications.
- Serve as trusted communications advisor to senior leaders.
- Develop executive communication strategies for organizational priorities, business updates, transformations, and announcements.
- Curate leader messaging and storytelling; develop talking points, presentations, scripts, key messages, and leadership toolkits.
- Align messaging across franchise leadership teams.
- Independently create and execute communications across channels (emails, newsletters, intranet content, executive presentations, town halls/events, video scripts, campaigns, change communications).
- Own quality of internal communications delivered directly or via agencies.
- Own Oncology communication channels, including intranet portals, content strategy, editorial calendars, distribution lists, and platforms (e.g., Staffbase).
- Coordinate stakeholder planning and execution to deliver aligned, timely messages.
- Drive communication cascades for major business milestones; influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.
- Manage multiple initiatives; develop plans aligned to business planning cycles and employee engagement priorities.
- Establish communication metrics and reporting; leverage AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to improve planning, content, and insights.
- Lead agency/vendor partners ensuring quality and budget stewardship.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required.
- 8β12 years in internal/corporate/executive communications or related roles.
- Preferred: life sciences/healthcare/pharmaceutical communications experience; experience for HQ and field audiences.
- Demonstrated strategy execution in complex matrixed organizations; experience with growth/transformation/change initiatives.
- Strong executive presence; exceptional writing/storytelling/content development.
- Experience across written, digital, video, and live events.
- Ability to influence without authority; manage multiple priorities.
- Experience managing external agencies/vendors.
- Strong planning and communications operations skills; excellent judgment and problem-solving; high autonomy.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI-enabled tools.
- Required: Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
- Preferred: Staffbase and Smartsheet.
- Ability to travel 10% of the time.
