Role Summary

The Senior Manager, US Supply Planning and New Product Launch will partner with the Global Product Introduction and Optimization and US Commercial New Product Launch teams to execute successful launches in the US Commercial Region. The role is based in the Parsippany, NJ headquarters and is accountable for defining, maintaining, and sustaining the planning process to support new product introductions.

Responsibilities

  • Define, maintain, and sustain the planning process for launch products
  • Lead US Market supply chain planning activities for all assigned projects starting 12 months prior to launch through 6 months post launch and the transition to supply chain planner for in-line products
  • Prioritize and support top launches, standard launches, TU to relaunches, and site transfers for all US Commercial business units (Biosimilars, Generics, and Innovative)
  • Establish good working relationships with GPIO, NPL, NPS, Site and Market Supply Chain teams
  • Align with GPIO’s ‘Launch Excellence’ monthly process/cadence and recommend improvements that will enhance business objectives
  • Actively participate in new product launch meetings, and/or S&OP forums as appropriate, providing guidance/recommendations to ensure all aspects of supply chain are ready for launch
  • Escalate issues and decisions into appropriate forums
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, including GPIO, site, Commercial partners and distribution center
  • Oversee daily activities to ensure adherence to supply chain policy and complete required tasks accurately and within established deadlines
  • Own and manage the creation and maintenance of planning relevant master data (such as Source List, Purchase Info Record, Safety stock settings, etc)
  • Develop scenario plans for various supply and demand situations utilizing a standardized MPS template
  • Proactively identify, resolve or mitigate supply chain risks, issues and opportunities and ensure on-time communication to all relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure aligned net requirements are sent to the supplying site, GSC or TPIG as per agreed monthly cadence to support procurement, production, and packaging requirements
  • Deliver and maintain a balanced finished goods supply plan based on the aligned forecast
  • Monitor launch inventory identifying potential write-off risk and mitigation plans to achieve regional inventory targets
  • Achieve schedule, service, inventory and forecast KPIs
  • Advocate cross-functional team collaboration and communications
  • Take actions that directly or indirectly influence others to create buy-in, gain trust, motivate actions and win concessions without damaging relationships
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required by business needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or other relevant fields
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain/operations
  • Deep knowledge in supply chain concepts, planning processes and systems: demand planning, supply planning, new product introductions, and S&OP processes
  • Prior working experience in SAP IBP, APO, ECC strongly preferred
  • Pharmaceutical experience desirable, but not required
  • A PMP or APICS certification is desired
  • Proven ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization
  • Experience working in a global matrix environment with ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Self-motivated team player with sense of urgency and results-oriented mindset

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field)
