Performance Objectives And Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of industrial designers with strategic direction, mentorship, and guidance.
- Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and clinical departments to deliver cohesive product outcomes.
- Oversee project planning from concept through launch (schedules, budgets, resourcing, dependencies, requirements).
- Promote design excellence internally and externally.
- Partner with senior leadership to define and advocate for long-term user experience vision, strategy, and roadmaps.
- Coordinate with the UX/UI manager to deliver unified digital and hardware user experiences.
- Foster creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement within the industrial design team.
Required Experience And Skills
- Bachelorβs degree in Industrial Design, Human-Centered Design, Product Design, or related field (or equivalent education/experience).
- 10+ years of industrial design experience, taking complex products from concept through commercialization.
- Experience leading products through full development lifecycle to commercialization and launch.
- Mentoring/coaching designers across career stages; inclusive, collaborative, growth-oriented leadership.
- Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams (engineering, marketing, research, regulatory, product management).
- Proven success leading multiple complex projects while balancing user needs, technical feasibility, business goals, and timelines.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills; ability to influence stakeholders and align teams.
- Passion for user-centered design and innovation that improves outcomes for customers, patients, and healthcare professionals.
