Role Summary

Senior Manager, HIV Forecasting at Gilead leads short-term forecasting and performance analyses for multiple brands, managing complex cross-functional projects and shaping the roadmap for the US Forecasting and Analytics function across business units. The role requires leveraging broad functional expertise, therapeutic area knowledge, and strong communication and leadership to influence senior stakeholders across Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Medical, and Global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage market intelligence and cross-functional expertise to develop robust short- and mid-term (0-2 year) demand forecasts informing comprehensive revenue plans. Analyze primary and secondary data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and growth drivers for executive decision-making, while providing market and competitive insights to support strategic planning.
  • Lead performance analyses by conducting national-level reporting, reconciling results with forecasts, and driving continuous improvement in forecast accuracy. Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to senior executives and partners. Design and implement a performance management framework that links forecasts to strategic initiatives across Commercial, Marketing, Finance, and Manufacturing.
  • Lead development of data-based insights to inform brand and business unit strategy.
  • Conduct analytics to inform a range of customer and consumer issues, including physician and patient segmentation, customer journey and treatment flow analytics, etc.
  • Leverage data and analytics to develop key insights to inform brand strategy through the annual Brand Plan of Action (BPOA) process.
  • Lead performance/KPI development and reporting, enabling a thorough understanding of brand opportunities based on a variety of inputs.
  • Collaborate closely with market research and field-force insights teams to integrate insights and forward-looking perspectives to guide strong business decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate new capabilities from the AI/Predictive Analytics Lab. Leverage non-traditional and innovative analytical approaches, including AI and predictive analytics, to improve efficiency and effectiveness of strategy and operations.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of experience, or Master’s Degree and 8 years of experience, or PhD and 2 years of experience.
  • Preferred: Minimum of BA plus 10 years or MA plus 8 years of experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company; relevant experience in biopharmaceutical-focused marketing consulting is desirable.
  • Preferred: Strong forecasting and modeling techniques for strategic analytics (forecasting, business analytics, sales incentive modeling, etc.). Candidates with strong analytical capabilities without forecasting experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Preferred: Strong communication/influencing skills and executive presence; ability to distill complex information for all levels of management; capacity to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Preferred: Experience in a pharmaceutical environment and familiarity with pharmaceutical data sources (e.g., IMS, Symphony Health); strong software skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Tableau, Databricks).

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years of experience or Master’s Degree with 8+ years or PhD with 2+ years in relevant fields.
