Senior Manager, Government Affairs & Policy (GA&P) Communications (New Brunswick, NJ or Washington, DC)

Position Summary
- Advance Johnson & Johnson policy priorities through external communications.
- Lead and assist in developing plans, implementing programs, and working with media to ensure the Companyโ€™s positions are clearly understood by key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Build trusted relationships and collaborate across multi-functional teams to advance GA&P priorities.
- Prepare external communications strategies in response to policy and government inquiries.
- Manage development/production of communications materials (statements, talking points, press releases, digital content).
- Coordinate internal teams to align positions and messaging on emerging topics.
- Monitor and assess external communications and media environment related to GA&P priorities.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key media outlets (especially policy/political trades).
- Manage agency relationships to support strategy development and execution.
- Maintain understanding of industry standards and emerging trends.
- Mentor colleagues and nurture continuous improvement.

Requirements
- Bachelorโ€™s degree required.
- 8+ years in communications, public affairs, or media relations with a strong track record.
- Excellent verbal and written communications; produce well-written materials under tight deadlines.
- Strong relationship management; experience working cross-functionally and globally.
- Experience pitching and maintaining reporter relationships (politically focused and industry publications).
- Proven record advising senior management/business leaders.
- Passion for media and consuming news.
- Initiates actions, anticipates next steps, sets high standards.
- Experience managing third-party agency relationships.
