Overview
- Senior Manager, Cost Accounting responsible for overseeing cost accounting and providing reporting/analysis to support strategic and operational planning for Iovanceβs Cell Therapy Manufacturing Center.
Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly/quarterly close for general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and analyze company financial statements.
- Own overhead cost pool accumulation and allocation/absorption analysis.
- Coordinate monthly/quarterly cost accounting close for inventory and cost of sales (reconciliations and related journal entries as needed).
- Oversee quarterly and year-end physical inventory process with operations.
- Coordinate calculation and recording of inventory reserves.
- Partner with Internal Audit on Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for inventory and cost of sales; support continuous improvements.
- Support forecasting and budgeting inputs (product volumes, purchases, overhead pool, unit costs, cost of sales).
- Analyze manufacturing spending; support FP&A for monthly/quarterly financial review materials.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly PBC schedules for audits/interim reviews; work with audit firm.
- Identify/analyze opportunities to improve results and facility processes.
- Support internal and external financial audits.
- Supervise and develop a team of two cost accounting professionals.
Required Qualifications
- BA or BS in Accounting.
- 9+ years progressive cost accounting experience (biopharmaceutical industry preferred).
- In-depth cost accounting knowledge; GAAP knowledge.
- Experience working in a Sarbanes-Oxley control environment.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
- CPA and Big 4 experience.
- NetSuite experience.
- Strong forecasting and analytical skills; advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication/interpersonal skills; ability to build cross-functional partnerships.
- Detail-oriented, proactive problem solver; able to independently prioritize and meet deadlines.
