Role Summary
Senior Manager, Business Excellence at Santa Clara, CA. Lead and collaborate across functions to align long-term business goals with initiatives, measuring and tracking performance, and identify opportunities for process improvement using lean principles.
Responsibilities
- Host, lead and/or support the Strategic Business Cycle and Performance Review Activities while deploying SC strategy.
- Lead the Supply Chain End-to-End Performance Management Reporting governance (SC scorecard and strategic project).
- Collaborate with source, operations, deliver, finance, engineering, and quality to plan and realize continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead, develop, and implement process improvements and key business improvements.
- Implement key business improvement initiatives around Product Supply and Cost using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Manufacturing Excellence principles/tools.
- Facilitate New Idea meetings, site process and continuous improvement initiatives/projects, including managing resources, timelines, and change-management tools.
- Identify opportunities with plant and functional leaders to improve process quality, delivery, and cost performance.
- Develop processes with finance and operations to measure and analyze cost actions monthly and review with manufacturing leadership.
- Lead projects that optimize value for multiple product platforms and end-to-end value streams.
- Facilitate review of project objectives, assumptions, and validation approaches.
- Facilitate project portfolio reviews with manufacturing leadership and provide clear line of sight to actual vs. target performance for relevant metrics.
- Drive end-to-end capacity assessment to deliver BP and LRFP commitments.
- Lead Lean and Six Sigma trainings and certifications program.
- Drive continuous improvement and transformational results through end-to-end value streams.
- Performs other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is required; Industrial Engineering preferred. Advanced degree (MA, MS, MBA) is an asset.
Experience And Skills
- Minimum of 12 years in a manufacturing environment with at least 2 years in a Business / Process Excellence role.
- Experience in a highly regulated environment (FDA, ISO, etc.).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Process Excellence/Six Sigma tools and methodology.
- Experience as a practitioner of Lean or DMAIC/DMADV.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication; strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate with all levels of management in a matrix environment.
- Strong ability to communicate and drive results through others.
Preferred
- Experience developing and executing change management plans.
- Direct experience in the medical device industry.
- Experience with SPC, process characterization, ANOVA, DOEs, and hypothesis testing.
- Experience with PFMEAs and/or DFMEAs.
- Experience with project management tools and processes.
- Process Excellence/Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification preferred.
- LEAN or DMAIC/DMADV training experience asset.
- Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations certification (e.g., APICS, ISM, Six Sigma, PMP, FPX).
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; Industrial Engineering preferred. Advanced degree (MA, MS, MBA) an asset.
