Responsibilities:
- Lead preparation of Form 10-Q quarterly reports, Form 10-K annual reports, financial sections of earnings press releases, and other current reports.
- Manage external SEC financial reporting and filing process, including drafting internal/external comments for financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A; complete GAAP checklists; maintain and review XBRL tagging.
- Monitor emerging SEC/PCAOB/accounting and reporting rules for applicability.
- Partner with Controller and Senior Director of Accounting on review/assessment of complex accounting matters and new U.S. GAAP standards to ensure timely, accurate reporting.
- Lead stock-based compensation accounting for ASC 718, including preparation of stock-based compensation expense journal entries.
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries and monthly account reconciliations for G&A accrual, cash & investments, fixed assets, and leases.
- Collaborate with other G&A teams (e.g., Legal, IR) to ensure timely information sharing.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate controls and reporting processes.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Accounting; 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP; ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to research/interpret accounting guidance and draft accounting memos.
- Strong attention to detail and effective communication.
- Proven collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Solution-oriented; customer service approach.
- Ability to zoom-in/zoom-out on operational details.
- Ability to work independently and with multi-disciplinary teams, external partners, and vendors.
- Excitement about the mission.
- Prior experience in biotech/life sciences or other high-growth technology.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active CPA license.
- Experience with Workiva (or similar SEC reporting platform).
- Experience with NetSuite, Prendio, and Bill.com.
Location/Work Schedule:
- Boston office; hybrid schedule with three in-office days each week.
