Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Role: Senior Machine Learning Engineer within Amgen's AI & Data Innovation Lab, focused on developing scalable AI proof-of-concepts to enable enterprise AI solutions. Responsibilities: build and validate high-impact AI prototypes using LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, data pipelines, and cloud-native services; collaborate with product managers, stakeholders, and engineering teams to translate business needs into practical AI applications; create reusable architectures and documentation; model best engineering practices and mentor others. Requirements: Doctorate or Master's with 2+ years, or Bachelor's with 4+ years of relevant experience in AI engineering, software development, or data engineering; strong expertise in AI application architecture, cloud platforms (AWS), and modern software practices (Python, CI/CD); proven ability to deliver full-stack AI solutions with scalability and security. Preferred: experience with AI evaluation methods, vector databases, agentic workflows, and responsible AI use; effective cross-functional communication and ownership skills.
