Senior Legal Counsel - Contracts Center of Excellence

Role: Senior Legal Counsel – Contracts Center of Excellence, providing legal support on complex intellectual property and commercial transactions within 3M. Responsibilities: draft, review, and negotiate IP agreements (licensing, collaboration, data, software), advise on IP ownership, licensing, confidentiality, data rights, and technology transfer; develop contracting strategies and risk mitigation; lead cross-functional transaction processes; improve contract templates and processes; collaborate with stakeholders across legal, IP, sourcing, IT, privacy, and business teams. Requirements: Juris Doctor; 7+ years of IP law experience in law firm or in-house settings, member of a U.S. bar; strong legal research and negotiation skills; excellent communication and business acumen. Preferred: background in math, physics, engineering, science, or IT; knowledge of AI tools and contracting tech; ability to advise on strategic initiatives; results-oriented, high-energy work style.
