Role Summary
Senior Health & Science Specialist, Cardiac Rare Disease βΓΓ¬ San Diego, CA. The role focuses on increasing disease state awareness for ATTR-CM among healthcare providers, spanning primary care and cardiologists, and reports to the Area Business Manager. The AMS will develop and execute territory business plans, establish partnerships with Rare Cardiac colleagues, and educate customers using approved resources to drive patient recognition.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize customer opportunities and projects to maximize impact using data and stakeholder input.
- Develop territory business objectives and define key performance metrics aligned to brand objectives; meet or exceed goals.
- Maintain active customer profiles, plans, and data sets in planning resources.
- Continually evaluate and refine call planning based on local territory factors and priorities.
- Utilize advanced selling skills and approaches; understand the complex selling environment of the local market.
- Align messaging with customer priorities using approved brand resources; tailor messaging to segments or individuals.
- Adapt messaging in complex selling environments; partner with customers to connect Pfizer resources to patient needs.
- Grow and maintain relationships with appropriate stakeholders and decision makers.
- Exhibit in-depth knowledge of ATTR-CM, diagnostic procedures, and the Vyndamax profile (as appropriate); educate customers to raise disease awareness and support patient identification and treatment.
- Demonstrate brand value propositions and implement approved educational programs across customer segments; present materials to deliver value-added messaging.
- Demonstrate adaptability to changes in the marketplace and act decisively with available information.
- Coordinate with other customer-facing teams and subject matter experts to elevate the customer experience and meet customer needs.
- Proactively gather customer insights and apply them to anticipate opportunities and threats in local markets; leverage market data in planning.
- Pursue individual learning opportunities; be coachable and committed to elevating capabilities.
- Emulate best practices, share insights, engage leadership, and provide candid, actionable feedback while ensuring compliant use of promotional materials.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5βΓΓ¬10 years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device sales experience.
- Bachelor's Degree required OR an associateβΓΓ΄s degree with 8+ years of experience; OR a high school diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated ability to formulate, develop, write, communicate, and monitor territory business plans.
- Demonstrated history of strong teamwork and collaboration.
- Strong analytical skills with a history of applying market and customer insights to inform sales planning and execution; track record of assessing customer needs and providing appropriate tools/resources to drive performance.
- Ability to follow and support company policies.
- Valid US driver's license and driving record in compliance with company standards (DUI/DWI or impaired driving within past 7 years disqualifies).
- Ability to travel domestically and stay overnight as necessary.
Skills
- Advanced selling skills (e.g., PSSF) and ability to navigate complex local market environments.
- In-depth knowledge of ATTR-CM disease area, diagnostic procedures, and related therapies.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with healthcare providers and stakeholders.

Additional Requirements
- Work Location: Remote - Field Based.
- Overnight travel required; ability to drive to meet with doctors in person.
- Geography: All of San Diego County and into Orange County; ideal candidate location is San Diego.
