Senior Clinical Coordinator
Responsibilities:
- Provide product education and logistical assistance to patients, caregivers, HCP, and site staff.
- Listen to patients and answer non-medical, product, and logistical questions.
- Educate patients on next steps to gain and maintain access to therapy using BioMarin-approved materials.
- Maintain relationships with patients/families and support ongoing compliance with therapy.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Sales, Market Access, Patient Services, Advocacy, Marketing) to improve access to insurance, medications, and financial support.
- Move cases from referral to specialty pharmacy/wholesaler/clinic shipment to product start.
- Work with clinics/patients in assigned geography and BioMarin RareConnections staff to ensure timely therapy initiation and adherence activities.
- Secure HIPAA consent (written/electronic).
- Conduct ongoing education on disease and administration technique for safe use (patient/caregiver and clinic/infusion site).
- Educate patients on coverage and prior authorization steps.
- Partner with FRMs to investigate access challenges pre-/post-infusion and resolve issues.
- Coordinate with SP nursing teams for home infusion support.
- Report AEs and product complaints with Safety/PV through medical information.
- Ensure adherence to applicable compliance/policy requirements.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal communication; motivational interviewing.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Team player aligned with BioMarin Commercial values.
- Action-oriented, tenacious, anticipates obstacles; high business acumen.
- Adaptable; expert navigation of systems; aligns resources to action plans.
Experience/Education (Required/Preferred):
- 6+ years pharmaceutical experience as a patient educator.
- Allied healthcare education preferred (BSN or advanced practitioner).
- Prior sales experience desired.
- Experience working cross-functionally; proficient in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.com.
Location/Travel:
- Requires 50%+ travel; should reside in California near a major airport.
Required:
- Successful background check.
- Valid driverβs license and driving record.
