Provide expert field-based patient education and support throughout the treatment journey for the Rett community. Serve as a dedicated point of contact to Rett families for on-label clinical education questions about disease state and product education. Engage primarily with caregivers/families (and appropriate healthcare professionals/local communities) to help patients start and stay on therapy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide disease state, product, and ongoing therapy management education upon request in consumer-friendly language; use in-person, telephonic, and/or virtual formats.
- Assess patient/caregiver needs and provide ongoing education/resources across the patient journey.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Marketing, Sales, Patient Access, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, etc.) across a territory (may require coverage of multiple states).
- Share expert disease/product knowledge to internal stakeholders; develop tools/resources to close educational gaps.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of customer support programs (e.g., hub, patient assistance, ambassador speaker programs).
- Moderate/lead caregiver speaker programs as needed; attend community events.
- Provide reactive in-services to physician offices; foster dialogue between caregivers and providers.
- Identify/execute leadership opportunities; mentor/train new educators and colleagues; identify training/development needs.
- Ensure actions comply with laws, regulations, policies, and company values.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelorβs (life sciences preferred); RN/MSN/MBA a plus.
- Family Support Educator: 5+ years relevant healthcare/pharma experience; 2+ years patient support/education.
- Senior Family Support Educator: 8+ years; 5+ years patient support/education.
Required/Preferred Skills:
- Rare disease strongly preferred; patient/caregiver education strongly preferred.
- Account management and advocacy preferred; strong cross-functional collaboration.
- Lead without authority; HIPAA knowledge; empathetic, patient-centric, strong listening, organization, communication/presentation.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; manage budgets.
- Travel up to 70%; meet vaccination requirements for in-person field work.
