Role Summary
Provide expert field-based patient education and support for the Rett community. Serve as a dedicated point of contact to Rett families for on-label clinical education questions about disease state and product education, helping patients start and stay on therapy.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide disease state, product, and ongoing therapy management education to patients, caregivers, and care teams (in-person, telephonic, and virtual).
- Assess individual patient/caregiver needs and provide appropriate education/resources throughout the patient journey.
- Support the assigned multi-state territory and collaborate with internal partners (Marketing, Sales, Patient Access Team, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, etc.).
- Use deep knowledge of the disease, product, and Acadia Customer Support Programs (e.g., Hub/Patient Assistance, ambassador speaker programs).
- Moderate/lead caregiver speaker programs; attend community events.
- Provide reactive in-services to physician offices to explain the role and support resources.
- Identify education gaps and opportunities for leadership/mentorship and training development.
Education & Experience
- Bachelorβs degree in life sciences preferred (RN/MSN/MBA a plus).
- Family Support Educator: 5+ years relevant healthcare/pharma experience, incl. 2+ years in patient support/education.
- Senior Family Support Educator: 8+ years relevant experience, incl. 5+ years in patient support/education.
Required/Preferred Skills
- Rare disease, patient/caregiver education, account management, and advocacy experience (strongly preferred).
- Strong cross-functional collaboration; leading without authority.
- Provider office and patient support program experience strongly preferred.
- Patient-centric mindset, empathy, exceptional interpersonal/organizational skills.
- HIPAA knowledge; strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to manage budgets; fast learner.
- Travel up to 70%; meet vaccination requirements for field activities.
Compensation/Benefits (if applicable)
- Salary range: $136,000β$170,000 USD; eligible for discretionary bonus and equity.
