About the Role
- Lead execution of complex facility engineering projects to improve infrastructure reliability, clean utility performance, and operational efficiency at the Round Lake site.
- Oversee cleanroom/production space modifications and upgrades to WFI, RO water, clean steam, process compressed air, and HVAC.
- Serve as primary engineering lead for site-wide facility shutdowns (planning, scheduling, cross-functional coordination, risk mitigation, execution).
- Manage external service providers/landlord-managed resources and develop/monitor KPIs for service excellence and reliability.
- Lead sustainability initiatives (utility optimization, energy reduction, infrastructure improvements).
How you will contribute
- Lead facility engineering projects; coordinate facility shutdowns.
- Manage critical utility systems (HVAC, clean steam, WFI, RO water, compressed air).
- Develop KPIs; execute GMP-compliant change controls, risk assessments, deviations, investigations, and CAPA.
- Manage vendors/contractors; partner with Validation, Quality, Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Engineering.
- Provide engineering standards/documentation improvements; support inspections/audits.
- Build project schedules, cost estimates, budgets, and implementation plans.
- Support security/infrastructure improvements (e.g., access control/monitoring).
- Mentor junior engineers; proactively identify and mitigate risks.
What you bring to Takeda
Required Qualifications
- BS in Engineering (or related).
- 5+ years regulated facilities/utility/infrastructure/manufacturing engineering.
- Facility/utility project experience (planning to execution); hands-on HVAC.
- Clean utilities experience (WFI/RO/clean steam/compressed air or similar).
- GMP-regulated industry experience.
- Experience with change controls, deviations, investigations, CAPAs, engineering documentation.
- Project management (scope, scheduling, budgeting, stakeholders); strong communication.
Compensation/Benefits (as stated)
- Base salary range (US): $89,900β$141,240.
