Clinical Research and Development
Oversees the direction, planning, execution, and interpretation of clinical trials/research for one or more clinical development programs, and participates in cross-functional teams to generate, deliver, and interpret high-quality clinical data supporting product strategy.

Responsibilities:
- Manage design and implementation of clinical development programs aligned to the Product Development Plan; oversee investigator/site/AbbVie study staff education.
- Oversee clinical study integrity; review/interpret/communicate safety and efficacy data; oversee enrollment and key deliverable timelines with Clinical Operations; ensure serious adverse event assessment/reporting per policy and regulations.
- Lead scientific content design, analysis, interpretation, and reporting for protocols, Investigator Brochures, Clinical Study Reports, regulatory submissions/responses, and program documents.
- May oversee Associate Medical/Scientific Directors and Clinical Scientists.
- Provide in-house clinical expertise; coordinate scientific/medical activities with internal stakeholders; may support due diligence/business development; contribute to translational strategy with Discovery.
- May chair a Clinical Strategy Team (CST) to develop a cross-functionally aligned Clinical Development Plan; may supervise matrix teams and serve as Clinical Research representative to Asset Development Teams.
- Act as clinical interface for opinion leader interactions; partner with Medical Affairs/Commercial and others per policy.
- Stay current on professional information and technology.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, GCP, pharmacovigilance standards, SOPs, and quality standards.

Qualifications:
- Senior Medical Director: MD/DO or non-US equivalent; relevant specialty; residency strongly preferred; fellowship desirable; 2+ years clinical trial experience; can run moderate-complexity program with minimal supervision; cross-functional leadership and strong English communication.
- Executive Medical Director: MD/DO or non-US equivalent; residency strongly preferred; fellowship desirable; 5+ years (7 preferred) clinical trial experience; can run complex program independently; proven leadership/influence; extensive clinical trial/regulatory/compliance knowledge; strong English communication; judgment to solve complex problems.
