Clinical Research and Development
Responsibilities:
- Oversee direction, planning, execution, and interpretation of clinical trials/research for one or more clinical development programs.
- Manage design and implementation of clinical development programs aligned to the Product Development Plan; oversee investigator/site/AbbVie study education.
- Ensure study integrity; review/interpret/communicate safety and efficacy data; oversee enrollment and key deliverable timelines with Clinical Operations.
- Design, analyze, interpret, and report scientific content for protocols, Investigator Brochures, Clinical Study Reports, regulatory submissions/responses, and other program documents.
- Provide in-house clinical expertise for molecule/disease; coordinate scientific/medical activities; may support due diligence/business development and translational strategy.
- Serve on/chair Clinical Strategy Teams to develop vetted cross-functional Clinical Development Plans.
- Act as clinical interface for opinion leader interactions; partner with Medical Affairs/Commercial and others per corporate policies.
- Stay current via conferences/literature/training.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and represent clinical interests in key regulatory discussions.
- Ensure adherence to Good Clinical Practices, pharmacovigilance standards, SOPs, and other quality standards.

Qualifications:
- Medical Doctor (M.D.), D.O., or non-US equivalent with relevant therapeutic specialty; residency strongly preferred; subspecialty fellowship desirable.
- Senior Medical Director: 2+ years clinical trial experience.
- Executive Medical Director: 5+ years (7 preferred) clinical trial experience; able to run complex programs independently.
- Knowledge of clinical trial methodology; regulatory/compliance; experience developing clinical strategy and study protocols.
- Excellent oral/written English; strong cross-functional leadership/influence; independent judgment and problem-solving.
