Senior Engineer / Principal Engineer, Lentivirus Downstream Process Development

Role: Senior/Principal Engineer in Lentivirus Downstream Process Development at Legend Biotech, focusing on designing, optimizing, and scaling purification processes for lentiviral vectors (LVV) for cell therapy programs. Responsibilities include developing advanced mechanistic and hybrid models, applying engineering principles like mass transfer and fluid mechanics, leveraging analytics and machine learning for process insights, and translating bench-scale processes into GMP manufacturing. The role involves process development for clarification, chromatography, and TFF, as well as implementing advanced process controls to maximize vector quality. Collaborates with upstream, analytical, and manufacturing teams, supports tech transfer, and ensures regulatory compliance. Qualifications: PhD (preferred) or MS in Chemical/Biomedical/Bioprocess Engineering, with 6+ years (PhD) or 8+ years (MS) experience in bioprocess development, especially in biologics or gene therapy. Strong expertise in bioprocess modeling, chromatography, TFF, and GMP requirements, with preferred experience in lentiviral vectors and large-scale purification. Skills include process modeling/software (Python/MATLAB), troubleshooting, cross-functional collaboration, and regulatory document preparation.
