Senior Engineer (Drug Product Technologies) — Thousand Oaks, CA

What You Will Do
- Serve as the technical SME for visual inspection; lead troubleshooting of complex inspection-related issues.
- Partner cross-functionally to develop robust inspection strategies for pipeline and commercial products (manual, semi-automated, automated).
- Own and continuously improve defect kit preparation and management for visual inspection studies.
- Establish testing strategies; develop characterization protocols, offline testing methods, and product quality impact assessments.
- Plan, design, execute, and document lab studies for formulation, aseptic processing, visual inspection, and fill/finish development.
- Apply first-principles modeling and basic science/engineering skills to solve technical problems.
- Perform advanced statistical/analytical data analysis using statistical software.
- Support fill/finish manufacturing operations via process capability, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and product impact assessments.
- Author/review guideline documents, technical protocols, reports, product impact assessments, and regulatory sections for IND/marketing.
- Conduct risk assessments for inspection operations; propose/implement appropriate CAPA.
- Develop validation plans, IOQs, and PQs; ensure inspection operations meet applicable quality requirements/laws/standards.
- Assist in deviation/exception resolution and root cause analysis; coordinate/organize resources.

Travel
- Up to 10% domestic and international.

What We Expect Of You
Basic Qualifications
- Doctorate OR
- Master’s + 2 years engineering/operations OR
- Bachelor’s + 4 years engineering/operations OR
- Associate’s + 8 years engineering/operations OR
- High school/GED + 10 years engineering/operations

Preferred Qualifications
- PhD with 2 years industry experience
- Visual inspection development/manufacturing experience
- Knapp studies experience
- Packaging and inspection equipment experience
- Pharma inspection background
