Role Summary

Senior Duchenne Area Manager (DAM) is a performance-driven individual contributor who promotes the safe and effective use of Sarepta Therapies to medical providers across their assigned territory. This role supports a larger team developing opportunities for new drug classes to treat Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The DAM is expected to meet and frequently exceed enrollment form goals, thrive in a fast-paced environment, understand market dynamics, exercise sound judgment, and be motivated to improve patients' lives. The DAM is assigned to a specific regional territory within the US and must live within that geography due to travel needs.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes safe and effective use of Sarepta therapies in accordance with the product label and company training and policies
  • Drive demand for enrollment form attainment with the four currently approved products: Amondys 45, Exondys 51, Vyondys 53 and Elevidys (and other launch products when applicable) within a defined geography
  • Build strong referral networks outside the sites of care by educating and selling four marketed products to identify new patients or patients diagnosed and lost to follow up; calls may include physician offices and smaller community/academic hospitals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key HCPs in Sites of Care by educating and selling four marketed products (3 PMOs and Elevidys) to target physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, nurse coordinators, genetic counselors, and other extenders across neurology/neuromuscular subspecialties
  • Conduct weekly in-person meetings with referring and treating physicians and collaborate with matrix team resources as needed
  • Execute a consistent consultative selling model to achieve optimum results and be recognized as a leader in clinical selling skills
  • Develop strategic account plans with defined sales objectives, ensuring efficient coverage of assigned geography
  • Identify naïve DMD patients where appropriate by educating HCPs to ensure timely diagnosis and access to care
  • Lead HCP education on genetic testing, access, and amenability
  • Lead HCP education on the antibody assay, access, and pull-through
  • Engage priority leads based on current business strategy
  • Stay current on the DMD environment; maintain advanced knowledge of disease, local drivers, treatment and referral patterns, key account profiles, reimbursement, and barriers to optimal care
  • Ensure appropriate resource allocation to meet customer needs and address gaps in DMD understanding and care
  • Exercise sound judgment and adhere to regulatory and compliance guidelines and company policies
  • Collaborate across functional areas to achieve goals and address issues
  • Challenge convention and share best practices within the DAM team
  • Take responsibility for projects and other duties as requested by management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 7+ years of field experience in biotech industry, preferably in orphan diseases
  • Neuromuscular, Pediatric Neurology or other specialty experience preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of healthcare regulatory and enforcement environments, specifically in orphan or rare disease
  • Excellent consultative selling skills with a proven record of performance
  • Passion for improving DMD patient care delivery and patient-centered approach
  • Adopts new technologies/techniques and continuous learning
  • Product launch experience highly desired
  • Track record of consistently exceeding sales goals
  • Advanced use of MS Office Suite and Veeva/Salesforce
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and in good standing
  • Ability to travel up to 70%

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

Additional Requirements

  • Hybrid role; on-site at Sarepta facilities in the United States and/or attendance at Company-sponsored in-person events as needed
