Role Summary
Senior Director, Quality Business Process Excellence is responsible for enabling the Innovative Medicine Quality processes and deliverables; leads specific end-to-end programs and owns specific end-to-end business processes. The role is strategic, creating and maintaining process decomposition and driving continuous improvement of key Quality processes, consolidating the investment picture for Quality Systems, and owning end-to-end processes for Innovative Medicine Quality. The leader will shape supply chain resiliency in collaboration with R&D, Commercial, Supply Chain and Enterprise functions, overseeing a group of end-to-end business excellence professionals supporting IMQ with strategic problem statements and improvements in end-to-end processes in partnership with key functions.
Responsibilities
- The enablement of the Quality processes and be a close business partner to members of the Quality Systems & Innovative Medicine Quality Leadership teams.
- Develop the process model and decomposition, document processes, enable access through training, and drive consistency and continuous improvement aligned with business needs.
- Manage investment for Quality Systems in collaboration with IMQ Strategy & Operations and finance, providing status updates with Strategy & Operations.
- Oversee End-to-End performance management and tiered performance management, including monthly scorecard reviews with IMQ leadership and development of a connected performance management structure.
- Own resiliency work: risk assessments, transparency of supply chain resiliency, serve as point of contact for SC resiliency challenges in IM Quality, and contribute to yearly BoD risk content.
- Develop talent within the team to hire best-in-class talent and enable progression to impactful positions.
- Maintain strong connections with other excellence groups in IMQ, Enterprise, and partner functions.
- Collaborate with R&D and Commercial to ensure IMQ processes are well aligned.
Qualifications
- Required: A Bachelor’s degree. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: 10–12 years of relevant business experience; at least 8 years in Supply Chain (Operational), Quality, or R&D.
- Certification: Black Belt preferred; proven knowledge in Six Sigma, Lean, or DEX.
- Capabilities: Ability to manage ambiguity in a complex environment; strong partnering, financial acumen, and understanding of how value is created; ability to influence across organizational boundaries; strong performance management and process linkage to strategic objectives; leadership and people management skills; effective communication at all levels.
- Other: Ability to align improvement projects with business vision and strategy; strong process thinking and ability to connect strategy, dashboards, and processes.
