Role Summary
Senior Director to lead Pricing, Contracting & Trade Strategy. This cross-functional leadership role will oversee pricing strategy, government pricing compliance, contract lifecycle management, trade channel development, and GTN forecasting. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in biotech or specialty pharma, with a strong understanding of U.S. payer systems, innovative contracting models, and distribution logistics.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute pricing strategies for pipeline and in-line products, aligned with clinical value and market dynamics.
- Lead the design and negotiation of contracts across Managed Care, GPOs, Government, and Specialty Pharmacy channels.
- Facilitate Pricing Committee meetings and ROI analyses to support strategic decisions.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state pricing regulations (e.g., Medicaid Best Price, 340B, FSS, SPTR).
- Oversee all aspects of government price reporting (AMP, BP, FCP, NFAMP, PHS, URA).
- Manage relationships with the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), including solicitations, audits, and annual reviews.
- Ensure timely and accurate State Price Transparency Reporting and wholesaler/distributor licensing.
- Establish and manage trade channels and order-to-cash processes with 3PL providers.
- Ensure DSCSA compliance and launch readiness for new products.
- Evaluate and oversee outsourced vendors including BPOs, analytics consultants, and licensing partners.
- Lead GTN forecasting and analytics to support financial planning and strategic decision-making.
- Review and approve customer payments, fee reports, and 340B refunds.
- Provide strategic guidance on pricing models and GTN optimization.
- Collaborate with Commercial, Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, and Market Access teams to ensure integrated execution.
- Lead post-acquisition transitions and office relocations as needed.
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across pricing and trade functions.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in Business, Finance, Health Policy, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
- 12+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech pricing, contracting, trade operations, and GTN strategy.
- Proven success in managing complex contract portfolios and third-party vendor relationships.
- Strong understanding of federal and state regulatory requirements including FSS, DLA, SPTR, and PDMA.
- Experience with systems such as Model N, Microsoft Dynamics AX, and other CLM or pricing platforms.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
