Position Summary
- Lead the strategic design, implementation, and optimization of patient support programs and hub operations across the product portfolio.
- Ensure seamless patient access, reimbursement support, and adherence services; drive operational excellence and compliance in a highly regulated environment.
- Cross-functional leader partnering with Market Access, Commercial, Compliance, Legal, Medical Affairs, and external vendors to deliver a best-in-class patient experience.
Job Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PharmD) preferred
- 12+ years of experience in patient services, market access, reimbursement, or related biopharmaceutical functions
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and/or vendors
Knowledge & Skills (Required/Preferred)
- Deep understanding of hub services, reimbursement, and patient access (Part B and Part D experience strongly preferred)
- Experience with specialty pharmacy distribution models
- Strong knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements for patient support programs
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders
- Strong analytical, operational, and strategic thinking skills
Preferred Experience
- Launch experience for specialty or rare disease products
- Experience managing third-party hub vendors and specialty pharmacy partners
- Familiarity with gross-to-net implications and access-related financial dynamics
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategy for patient support and hub services aligned with corporate/brand objectives
- Design scalable service models for current and future product launches
- Continuously evaluate and enhance patient journey and access pathways
- Oversee hub operations (case management, benefits verification, prior authorization, financial assistance, order management)
- Manage hub vendor performance; establish KPIs/SLAs and performance dashboards
- Ensure timely access to therapy through reimbursement and support services; champion patient-centric approach
- Partner with Market Access on payer strategy, coverage policies, and access pull-through
- Collaborate with Commercial on field reimbursement and patient services education
- Work with Compliance/Legal to meet regulatory and ethical standards
- Develop/manage budgets; oversee copay and PAP programs; support forecasting and scenario planning
- Ensure programs adhere to regulations (e.g., anti-kickback statutes, HIPAA) and implement auditing/monitoring
- Use data/insights to optimize programs; monitor metrics (time-to-therapy, abandonment rates, outcomes) and provide reporting to senior leadership
