Role Summary
Senior Director, Market Research HIV Prevention Integrated Insights leads a team responsible for primary market research for the HIV Prevention business unit within the US Commercial Organization. The role develops, executes, and evaluates strategic and tactical US market research plans and initiatives to support stakeholder insight needs for current and pipeline HIV products, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights and foster team development and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, develop, coach, and grow a high performing market research team with healthcare providers and consumers, delivering results.
- Lead market research strategy, planning, vendor contracts, and manage the functional budget.
- Engage with key US marketing and cross-functional stakeholders to develop and execute market research shaping strategies and tactics to meet business objectives.
- Generate superior customer market research insights, individually and through direct reports, to provide a competitive advantage.
- Provide HIV Prevention expertise and consulting on pre- and post-launch brand strategies and marketing tactics.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to develop market research plans addressing brands’ strategic objectives and tactical requirements.
- Represent the HIV Prevention Integrated Insights function at senior level meetings and make portfolio recommendations based on marketplace knowledge.
- Share best practices across market research and brand marketing, fostering agility and continuous improvement in response to priorities.
- Support professional development, recruitment, and retention to maintain industry-leading capabilities.
- Ensure policy compliance in all interactions, including guidelines on marketing research interactions with physicians.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree; 14 years’ experience OR Master’s Degree; 12 years’ experience OR PhD; 12 years’ experience; 10+ years of relevant market research experience; strong leadership and people-management experience; thorough understanding of pharmaceutical sales, marketing practices, product lifecycle management, and regulatory environment; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-based setting; strong organization, planning, communication, and project management skills; strong qualitative and quantitative market research technique knowledge; proven storytelling and data visualization ability; persuasive written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred: Master’s or PhD; experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotech; HIV or virology therapy experience; experience with provider-administered (buy-and-bill) products; experience driving large cross-functional initiatives and influencing across levels.
