Senior Director, M&A and BD&L

Role: Senior Director, M&A and BD&L at Bristol Myers Squibb, responsible for executing external transactions such as M&A, licensing, divestitures, collaborations, and investments to enhance R&D portfolio. Responsibilities include leading deal structuring, negotiations, and execution; managing transaction pipeline; providing strategic and financial analysis; and partnering with therapeutic area leads for external asset acquisition. The role involves representing BMS in negotiations and maintaining external relationships with banks, law firms, and target companies. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years in biotech/pharma, with advanced degrees (MBA, JD, PhD) preferred; extensive experience in M&A, BD&L, investment banking, or corporate development; strong financial, negotiation, and strategic skills; and proven ability to influence cross-functional teams. Prior senior stakeholder engagement and external network development are valued. Experience in biopharma deal making, with an emphasis on strategic growth transactions, is essential. The position is based in Princeton, NJ, with potential for collaboration across work models and some travel.
