Role Summary
Reporting to the Vice President, GU Marketing, the Sr. Director, RCC Marketing Strategy will lead the development of the three-year strategic brand plan, annual strategic plan, and line extension launch planning for possible new RCC products and/or indications.
Responsibilities
- Lead the cross functional effort required to generate and refresh the RCC 3 year and annual strategic brand plans and competitive readiness plans
- Establish a strategic framework and lead potential joint commercial collaborations with partner organizations
- Communicate and ensure organizational alignment to RCC strategic brand plan
- Co-manage the indication financial plan
- Collaborate with the commercial operations team to ensure effective forecast development for RCC
- Support the brand by conducting periodic, deep-dive market assessments
- Collaborate with commercial operations to optimize market research effecting RCC brand strategy
- Drive appropriate choices for required target product profile
- Collaborate with Sales Operations for development of sales incentives and sales analytics
- Responsible for managing the RCC brand budget and supports necessary ROI analysis
- Engage with GU key customers and accounts to develop market insights
- Execute RCC strategic programs as required by the brand
- Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern Exelixis conduct
- Other duties as assigned
- Directly supervise employee(s). Indirectly supervise employees through a dotted line structure or via other subordinate supervisors
Qualifications
- Oncology experience is required
- Pharmaceutical marketing and/or strategic consulting experience
- Sales, sales management, and managed care experiences are plus
Education
- Masterβs degree in related discipline and 13 years of related experience; or
- BS/BA degree in related discipline and 15 years of related experience; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience

- Ability to develop sound strategic concepts and clearly articulate these to brand and cross-functional team members
- Cross functional leadership with the ability to build consensus and drive key decisions
- High level of learning agility; comprehends all aspects of the market place that effect current and future brand performance (e.g. coverage, distribution, sales incentives, regulatory, and finance)
- Effective presentation and written communication skills
- Understanding of FDA Regulations of pharmaceutical drug promotions and experience with Legal, Medical and Regulatory review processes
- Knowledge of reimbursement mechanisms for both injectable and specialty oral medications
- Knowledge of managed care environment, including pharmacy and medical benefit design
- Strong command of MS Excel and financial modeling ability
