Position Summary
- Lead end-to-end US payroll and serve as process owner for global time management and absence (PATT), driving payroll strategy globally within Workday HCM.
- Partner with Finance, Legal, Global Mobility, and HR leadership to transform, streamline, and automate PATT capabilities.
- Implement an AI-forward payroll capability; drive Workday PATT product excellence; govern third-party vendors; ensure full SOX compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Global Payroll Operations:
- Own accurate, compliant, on-time US payroll.
- Manage equity-related payroll events (KPMG mobile taxation processor, award processing, special payments).
- Lead payroll readiness for new country/acquired launches and entity/regulatory setup, vendor selection, and integration.
- Serve as lead for cross-border, multi-jurisdictional/executive payroll matters.
- Maintain payroll governance, controls, and SOX-compliant payroll accounting/audit readiness.
HR Technology & AI Transformation:
- Lead Workday Payroll/Time Tracking/Absence roadmap (adoption, configuration governance, release planning).
- Streamline operations using HR tech/agentic AI while maintaining accuracy.
- Simplify PATT technology portfolio (reduce vendors, retire legacy tools, enable regional protocols).
- Optimize Workday integrations with payroll, finance, benefits, equity admin, and reporting.
Vendor & Third-Party Governance:
- Set SLAs, review vendor performance, and hold vendors accountable.
- Advise on outsourced payroll agreements and vendor risk.
Compliance/Risk/Financial Integrity:
- Ensure US employment tax, labor law, and data privacy compliance.
- Support year-end close/external reporting (MD&A, 401(k) audit support, disclosures).
- Handle stock compensation with multi-jurisdictional tax.
- Coordinate SOX testing and payroll control assessments with Internal/External Audit.
Team Leadership:
- Lead/develop US PATT team; foster ownership and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Partnership:
- Partner with Finance/Legal/Comp/Benefits/Global Mobility/HR BPs; represent PATT in M&A, implementations, policy changes.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, HR, or related field.
- 10+ years global payroll operations; track record transforming/scaling.
- Workday Payroll expertise; strong Time Tracking & Absence understanding.
- SOX compliance, GAAP payroll accounting, multi-jurisdictional tax/labor law proficiency.
- Payroll transformation experience (implementations, automation, AI-enabled improvements).
- Fortune 500-equivalent public company experience (ideally life sciences/tech/regulated).
- Authorized to work in the US full-time; no visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications
- MBA/MSHR; Workday certification; CPP.
- Large-scale payroll vendor relationship leadership.
- Equity/stock-based compensation payroll across jurisdictions.
- Workday Orchestrate, RPA, or AI-driven payroll automation experience.
- Familiarity with KPMG, Equatex (EQ), ADP Workforce Now, Experian.
- Experience through M&A integrations/entity expansions.
