Role Summary

Senior Director, Global Medical Affairs Molecule Lead (GMAL) for Neuro-oncology within Jazz Pharmaceuticalsโ€™ oncology portfolio. This strategic role requires deep clinical expertise in neuro-oncology and extensive global medical affairs experience, with potential advantages in rare diseases and paediatric oncology. Responsible for developing and executing global medical plans, including evidence generation, and aligning with Franchise and Global Product Team objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of annual and long-range Global Medical Plans and evidence generation strategies for the asset
  • Translate clinical and scientific insights into robust, cross-functional medical strategies
  • Chair the Medical Functional Matrix Team (FMT) for the asset, driving coordination and excellence across global medical functions
  • Collaborate with Clinical Scientists, Real-World Evidence leads, and Global Health Outcomes teams to co-develop protocols, synopses, and study execution plans
  • Build impactful scientific platforms and narratives that support the neuro-oncology strategy and product positioning
  • Develop and execute the global medical communications strategy, including a comprehensive publication plan
  • Partner with Medical Communications to create core materials (e.g., training decks, study summaries) for global and regional dissemination
  • Engage with Clinical Development to ensure evidence gaps are addressed within study designs and lifecycle planning
  • Collaborate with Commercial to support launch readiness and product lifecycle management
  • Represent Global Medical Affairs as the primary voice in cross-functional teams such as GPT and Clinical Development Team
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise in neuro-oncology and maintain current scientific and clinical knowledge
  • Assess competitive landscape and contribute strategic insights into the evolution of neuro-oncology treatment paradigms
  • Drive external stakeholder engagement, including expert mapping, development planning, and advisory boards
  • Lead external scientific society interactions and identify potential collaborative opportunities
  • Support patient advocacy strategy development in partnership with Global Advocacy teams
  • Shape the Investigator-Sponsored Trial (IST) and collaborative research strategy for the asset

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong clinical background in neuro-oncology
  • Minimum of 7 yearsโ€™ experience in Medical Affairs, with demonstrated success in a strategic global role
  • Proven ability to develop and execute medical strategies that drive clinical impact and align with business objectives
  • Experience designing and leading Phase IV studies and supporting Real-World Evidence initiatives
  • Expertise across both marketed and pipeline products, with strategic and tactical planning capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in complex matrix environments
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory, commercialization, market access, and reimbursement frameworks
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; able to influence and communicate at senior leadership levels
  • High integrity, collaboration, and leadership presence in fast-paced, growth-focused settings
  • Willingness to travel as required

Education

  • Doctoral degree required; MD (or equivalent) preferred
