Senior Director, GDO Operational Business Management
Responsibilities:
- Serve on GDO leadership; strategic partner to Amgen India and R&D.
- Provide financial oversight and strategic resource allocation to ensure operational efficiency and financial discipline.
- Provide insight/direction for study budget forecast and approval process; manage GDO functional budget within regulatory and budget constraints.
- Align operational plans with financial targets; prioritize investments; build business cases for technology/modernization.
- Link resources to budget; identify efficiencies; manage non-resource spend.
- Translate resourcing data into actionable insights; partner with R&D Finance on budget/resource planning.
- Quantify resource needs (staffing, technology, clinical trial costs); manage staffing capacity across staff, FSPs, and contingent workers.
- Deliver analyses/reports on demand/supply, variances, and financial risks; lead/mentor a global team.
- Lead trade-off analyses for budget/cost/technology/efficiency; build future resource capability plans.
- Champion budget awareness and cost drivers; partner with Finance and R&D Strategy & Operations on resource algorithms; drive continuous improvement in scenario modeling and clinical trial technologies.
Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate + 5 years, or Masterโs + 8 years, or Bachelorโs + 10 years in Business Operations/Resource Planning/Financial Management in Pharmaceutical R&D or Clinical Operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years in financial/resource management in clinical operations (global teams, large-scale trials).
- Knowledge of trends enabling agility/efficiency (quality, time, cost); global cross-functional leadership.
- Vendor/timeline/project milestone management; portfolio resource demand variance management; budget optimization; data analysis for cost savings.
