Senior Director, Counsel – Market Access Litigation, Legal Policy and Strategy
Basic Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategy and advise senior leadership on litigation, policy engagement, and other advocacy shaping drug pricing, access, and reimbursement.
- Identify and assess new affirmative litigation and advocacy opportunities to advance market-access and pricing policy.
- Provide litigation counsel on legal policy and strategy priorities, including drafting/reviewing communications and comment letters.
- Manage litigation, government investigations, and other disputes across the portfolio from strategy through resolution.
- Lead and manage outside counsel, including budgets and coordination to deliver within them.
- Engage key external parties (government agencies, state AGs, trade associations, industry, outside policy/counsel network).
- Build relationships across legal and business functions; collaborate with Market Access legal/business teams.
- Monitor and analyze litigation, enforcement, and policy developments affecting drug pricing, access, and reimbursement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and J.D.
- Active license to practice law in one of the 50 states.
- Federal court of appeals clerkship.
- 8+ years practicing attorney experience (complex litigation; strategy at a global company and/or top law firm).
- 8+ years successful complex litigation at trial and appellate levels (discovery, dispositive motions, trial; briefing/arguing appeals).
- Authorized to work in the United States full-time; visa/work authorization sponsorship not provided.
Additional/Preferred Skills
- Constitutional claims; statutory/regulatory challenges; APA matters.
- Experience with class actions; healthcare program matters (e.g., Medicare/Medicaid/340B); fraud and abuse (e.g., AKS/False Claims Act).
- Leadership with senior stakeholders; confidential information handling.
- Litigation in pharmaceutical or similarly regulated industry; AI/emerging tech interest.

- Anticipated wage: $195,000–$314,600 (plus eligibility for company bonus and comprehensive benefits incl. 401(k), pension, medical/dental/vision, life insurance, time off/leave, and well-being benefits).
