Senior Director, Counsel – Litigation, Legal Policy and Strategy (Remote; reports to Associate Vice President, Assistant General Counsel – Litigation, Legal Policy & Strategy)

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute litigation/policy strategy; advise senior leadership.
- Identify and assess affirmative litigation and advocacy opportunities.
- Provide litigation counsel to Government Affairs, Communications, Regulatory Affairs, Lilly Value and Access (draft/review communications and comment letters).
- Manage litigation, government investigations, and disputes from strategy through resolution.
- Lead/manage outside counsel and budgets; coordinate internal efforts.
- Engage external parties (government agencies, state AGs, trade associations, industry, policy/counsel network).
- Build relationships across Legal and business functions.
- Monitor/analyze developments affecting drug pricing, access, and reimbursement.

Qualifications (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree and J.D.; active license to practice law.
- Clerkship on a federal court of appeals.
- 8+ years as practicing attorney managing complex litigation and developing/executing strategy at a global company and/or top law firm.
- Proven success in complex litigation (trial/appellate), including discovery, motions, trial, and appeal brief/argument.
- Experience with constitutional claims, statutory/regulatory challenges, and APA matters.
- U.S. work authorization (full-time); no visa sponsorship.

Additional Skills/Preferences
- Class actions; healthcare programs (e.g., Medicare/Medicaid/340B); fraud and abuse (AKS/False Claims Act).
- Litigation experience in highly regulated/pharmaceutical industry.
- AI/emerging tech enthusiasm for litigation effectiveness.

Compensation & Benefits
- Anticipated wage: $166,500–$244,200. Potential company bonus. Comprehensive benefits (e.g., 401(k), pension, medical/dental/vision, flexible benefits, life/death benefits, time off/leave, well-being benefits).
