Discover Your Role
- Provide legal support for business transactions (e.g., research collaboration, master services, consulting, license, data use, laboratory services, confidentiality agreements).
- Serve as privacy expert within Transactions & Contracts; advise on data privacy laws and privacy policy developments and ensure privacy provisions are integrated into contracts.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and provide strategic counsel on significant third-party agreements; coordinate internally/externally to finalize data privacy language.
- Respond to U.S. and ex-U.S. contracting questions.
- Manage updates to the data privacy contracting playbook; create privacy contracting tools and training; run internal office hours.
- Act as liaison to the Data Privacy Office on privacy policy questions/approaches.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for the contract lifecycle management system, including managing the Associate Director, Contracts & Systems Operations.
- Provide contract law support for the Cell Medicines team in Cambridge.

This Role Requires
- JD with excellent law school credentials.
- Licensed to practice in New York (or eligible for licensure as registered in-house counsel preferred).
- 15+ years of legal experience (law firm and/or in-house) with biotech/pharmaceutical and/or healthcare experience.
- Solid contracts knowledge; experience with contracts involving data privacy and intellectual property.
- Preferred: strategic leadership experience in contract management systems.
