Position Summary:
Senior Director, CEO Communications serves as a strategic partner to shape and execute an integrated CEO communications approach, translating enterprise priorities into clear, compelling messaging and ensuring the CEO’s voice is consistently reflected across key internal and external engagements. This role focuses on CEO communications for prepared remarks and engagements (media strategy/interview messaging led by Media Relations).

Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the VP to shape CEO communications strategy with insights, recommendations, and draft approaches aligned to enterprise priorities.
- Lead writer for the CEO; translate strategic direction into actionable communications plans and ensure consistent execution across CEO engagements.
- Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of CEO communications across internal/external platforms.
- Independently drive select CEO communications initiatives (e.g., thought leadership platforms, internal engagement moments).
- Develop/oversee high-impact CEO content (speeches, town halls, prepared remarks) and step in for critical moments.
- Shape and refine messaging to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with enterprise narrative; maintain cohesive voice/tone/positioning across channels.
- Support CEO external engagement preparation (speeches and talking points for non-media settings).
- Partner with Media Relations to align CEO prepared remarks with broader external communications strategy; contribute input to ensure consistency.
- Partner with Chief of Staff and senior leaders to align CEO communications with business priorities and leadership agendas.
- Act as a central connector across Corporate Affairs and key functions for integrated enterprise-wide messaging.
- Build relationships with senior stakeholders to inform messaging and support storytelling.

Qualifications Required:
- Significant experience advising senior executives; C-suite experience required.
- Strategic partner skills: bring forward ideas, shape messaging, influence senior stakeholders.
- Strong executive presence and judgment in complex, high-visibility environments.
- Exceptional writing/storytelling; executive-level communications for high-impact moments.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, or related field.
- 15+ years progressive corporate/executive communications experience in large matrixed organizations.
- 4+ years senior leadership experience with direct advisory responsibilities at executive/C-suite level.
- Demonstrated expertise developing/executing CEO or C-suite communications strategies (internal/external).
- Proven experience crafting executive content: speeches, talking points, town halls, written leadership communications.
- Track record managing sensitive/high-stakes communications with discretion.
- Exceptional written/verbal communication; authentically reflect executive voice.
- Cross-functional collaboration with Media Relations, Legal, Government Affairs, and other partners.

Preferred:
- Advanced degree (MBA or related).
- Experience in biopharmaceutical, life sciences, or healthcare.
- Familiarity with global communications and diverse stakeholder audiences.
- Experience supporting CEO/enterprise thought leadership and external positioning.
