Role Overview
The Senior Director, Category Management and Procurement β TPM is a global leadership role responsible for setting and executing category strategy across all TPM categories. Own end-to-end category management and portfolio execution for TPM spend to ensure speed, rigor, scalability, efficient delivery, operational continuity, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the single point of accountability to the VP of Operations Procurement and the CPO for all TPM categories.
- Own and lead global category strategies balancing speed, risk management, value creation, and long-term scalability.
- Align category strategies to TPM business priorities and roadmap for timely delivery across development and operational stages.
- Provide procurement oversight and execution leadership for the TPM portfolio.
- Lead development/execution of Category Management Plans delivering measurable value, synergies, and operational efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement across people, process, governance, systems integration, and reporting.
- Translate analysis into executive-ready insights and financial impact.
- Maintain P&L accountability, including budget management, value delivery, and financial tracking.
- Act as a thought partner to TPM leadership; solicit feedback and address service/execution gaps.
- Lead, coach, and develop a global team; foster an inclusive, high-performance culture.
- Provide thought leadership on TPM, digital transformation, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- 12+ years strategic sourcing/procurement; 5+ years in pharmaceutical/life sciences preferred.
- Demonstrated TPM procurement expertise.
- Proven experience leading teams and complex category portfolios.
- Bachelorβs degree required (science/business/finance/supply chain/engineering preferred).
- MBA or relevant MS/PhD strongly preferred.
- Certification in procurement/supply chain/Six Sigma desirable.
- Preferred: Coupa, SAP, Ariba experience.
- Strong procurement best practices and contract law understanding (global complexities preferred).
- Prior transformation initiatives and change management experience.
