Role Summary
The Caris BBD team is expanding its partnerships with biotechnologies, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare partners. A senior business development professional is sought to contribute to the team, leveraging expertise in genomics, diagnostics, data, and the drug development continuum to build robust business channels.
Responsibilities
- Promote the Caris BBD portfolio by working with cross-functional internal and external teams to target partners and meet their needs through Caris solutions or tailored customization.
- Generate leads, develop presentations and proposals, negotiate terms, support contracting processes, and manage partner relationships.
- Develop and deepen relationships with existing and prospective partners to maximize revenue and collaboration opportunities, coordinating with molecular science, laboratory, bioinformatics, technology, pathology, legal, and medical affairs teams.
- Cover the business portfolio of accounts based on geographic locations and resource availability.
Qualifications
- Required: A minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in Biopharma or business development roles.
- Required: Proven business development track record, including deal sheets, diligences, and partnerships with Biopharma; transactions knowledge (contracting, deal sheets, multi-tier decision making); experience as the external face of the organization at BD events and oncology conferences; ability to lead customer demos and presentations; ability to build strategic partnerships and advocate for the customer internally.
- Required: Knowledge of biopharma R&D processes, oncology product or related partnerships, lab services, bioinformatics, real-world data/evidence programs, and clinical trial enrollment related products/services; experience in molecular biology and drug discovery/development processes; understanding of the drug development continuum.
- Preferred: MBA and/or MD or Ph.D.; superior communication and negotiation skills; entrepreneurial, self-directed, strategic thinker; ability to scale from modular to large strategic partnerships; team-oriented with collaborative mindset; ability to develop external/internal materials; travel required (~30%).
