Role Responsibilities:
- Shape and evolve enterprise/domain-level AI strategy grounded in business value and transformation outcomes; connect initiatives to measurable impact.
- Design and evolve enterprise AI operating models and target technology landscape; create decision frameworks and architectural principles.
- Lead portfolio-level architectural trade-offs across initiatives and reusable capabilities (value vs. cost, speed vs. governance, standardization vs. flexibility).
- Define and steward β€œwhat good looks like” for AI architecture, solution design, and operational execution (quality, evaluation/governance, integration patterns, reuse/modularity) to prevent fragmentation and technical debt.
- Hands-on technical leadership: architect and conduct architecture/code reviews with modern AI/agent frameworks to validate buildability.
- Lead mixed teams (engineers, contractors, vendor partners); scope/direct vendor work, set quality/security standards, manage performance/spend, and ensure critical capability/IP stays with Pfizer; mentor and raise the technical bar.
- Monitor emerging technologies and research; translate signals into enterprise-relevant implications and lead internally/externally.

Qualifications:
- Basic: 12+ years in AI/data/software architecture at enterprise/multi-domain scale; ability to shape strategy tied to measurable outcomes; current hands-on proficiency writing/building/reviewing code with modern AI/agent frameworks; experience delivering production-grade systems with engineers/contractors/vendors; strong operating-model design, governance, and architectural standardization; influence senior executives; deep understanding across AI/ML, generative AI, system/data architecture, and software engineering; excellent communication.
- Preferred: experience in regulated enterprises; familiarity with AI governance/guardrails, AI-readiness & retrieval architectures, observability/monitoring; experience shaping enterprise AI roadmaps/transformation programs; manage vendor/contractor budgets; thought-leadership presence.
