Role: Senior Director, Applied AI Solutions within Gilead’s Clinical Data Science (CDS) organization, leading the applied AI function to develop scalable, reusable AI capabilities that enhance clinical research workflows. Responsibilities: translate business priorities into multi-year AI roadmaps, design and deliver enterprise-grade AI solutions (including models, agents, RAG, semantic search, and knowledge graphs), establish AI engineering standards, ensure responsible AI evaluation and observability, drive adoption and value realization in clinical workflows, build and lead a multidisciplinary AI team, and represent Gilead in external AI collaborations. Qualifications: 14+ years with a Bachelor’s, 13+ with a Master’s, or 12+ with a PhD in computer science, engineering, data science, or related fields; recent hands-on experience developing AI systems; extensive leadership in applied AI/ML organizations; deep knowledge of foundation models, LLMs, MLOps, and enterprise AI standards; experience in regulated environments. Preferred: experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare sectors, knowledge of clinical workflows, interoperability protocols, and biomedical data; external industry engagement. High-Value: focus on clinical development data, real-world evidence, biomarkers, safety, and regulatory workflows; emphasis on scalable, production AI solutions in a GxP context. Work Setup: Hybrid/On-site; salary range $243K–$315K plus benefits; travel not specified.
