Role Summary
The Senior Director, Alliance Management will lead strategic alliances within the Cardiopulmonary and Ophthalmology area of the Innovative Medicine Group. Main responsibilities include providing input for crafting partnerships and negotiating alliances, leading post-deal strategic objectives, shaping the relationship between partners and ensuring day-to-day activities are delivered. The Senior Director will ensure clear communication lines across the partnership and will need to work with internal and external stakeholders to anticipate and resolve potential issues. The Senior Director, Alliance Management will report to the Business Development Vice President. This individual will be assigned specific alliances with oversight of multiple alliances with varying complexity. The Senior Director will lead partnership integration through all phases of development and commercialization, including negotiation of subsequent agreements and partnership ways of working. The Senior Director will implement Alliance Management programmatic processes and tools appropriate to the scope and needs of the alliance. He/she will proactively foster coordination and alignment of all internal and external partners to the goals and objectives of the alliance. The Senior Director will participate as a member of the internal and joint R&D and commercial project teams and will facilitate joint alliance governance meetings and decisions. This position will require the ability to anticipate and resolve issues and conflicts arising out of changing priorities and unpredictable events. The Senior Director will monitor the progress of the contract obligations and milestones and effectively monitor the satisfaction of the partner.
Responsibilities

- Anticipate and resolve issues and conflicts from changing priorities and unpredictable events
- Monitor contract obligations, milestones, and partner satisfaction
Qualifications
- A BS degree is required
- An advanced degree (MS, MBA, Ph.D., etc.) in a scientific, technical or commercial field is preferred
- A minimum of 10 years related experience in a scientific, technical or commercial organization is required
- Experience in operations or program management is preferred
- Experience developing and managing timelines, budgets and similar details on multiple large-scale projects or in a significant line capacity is required
- Leadership experience in a large Cross-Functional team environment with ability to mobilize and align diverse groups
- Understanding of drug development and global commercialization is required
- Strong problem solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills; experience working with senior levels
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication and listening skills
- Ability to manage cross-functional complexities, think strategically and exercise good judgment
- Travel up to 20% as required
