Responsibilities:
- Serve as relationship lead for strategic alliances, licensing agreements, and collaborations; ensure alignment with corporate objectives and long-term business strategy.
- Negotiate and execute new strategic alliances and licensing transactions as part of Business Development; drive updates to plans and ancillary agreements.
- Build and sustain relationships with executive stakeholders and alliance contacts to drive transparency and successful execution.
- Lead alliance governance and performance management: executive decision-making, monitor partnership health, manage risks, ensure contractual commitments are fulfilled, and identify opportunities to maximize strategic value.
- Lead complex cross-functional initiatives through influence; align internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Provide alliance management expertise (capabilities, governance processes, best practices) in partnership with Business Development and other functions.
- Prepare and deliver executive-level communications and recommendations to senior leadership, governance committees, and external partners.
- Collaborate globally across countries/time zones.

Qualifications:
- 12+ years of management and post-bac experience in biopharma (required).
- Proven success leading complex strategic alliances/partnership governance at an executive level.
- Strong scientific and business acumen (drug discovery/development/commercialization, IP, regulatory, portfolio strategy).
- Experience with global alliances and regional licensing across multiple regulatory environments.
- Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, resolve complex issues, and facilitate alignment across organizations.
- Experience working with international teams.

Education: Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, JD, PhD).

Location/Work: South San Francisco, CA; 5-day onsite presence; flexibility for international meetings and periodic travel.

Compensation: Hiring pay range (U.S.) $283,500–$330,750/year.
