How You Will Make An Impact
The Senior Director, Accounting is responsible for strategic and operational oversight of cost accounting, COGS, revenue, and gross-to-net accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective close execution, strong internal controls, and compliance with U.S. GAAP. Leads accounting operations, develops the team, and partners with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver business insights, support growth initiatives, drive process excellence, and advance scalable systems.
In This Role, You’ll Have The Opportunity To
- Provide strategic leadership for cost accounting, COGS, revenue, and gross-to-net accounting and related reporting.
- Lead, develop, and direct accounting team members for cost accounting and revenue/GTN accounting.
- Oversee monthly/quarterly/annual close for inventory, COGS, product revenue, GTN reserves, including journal entry review, reconciliations, reserve calculations, and analyses.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and integrity of policies and internal controls.
- Provide technical accounting leadership (contracts, partner pricing reconciliations, inventory valuation, standard costing, costing models, manufacturing variances, inventory reserves).
- Partner cross-functionally (Commercial, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, FP&A, Legal) for guidance, budgeting/forecasting support, and insights.
- Analyze key metrics (revenue, GTN reserves, inventory, variances, profitability, trends).
- Drive process optimization/automation and systems enhancements.
- Maintain/strengthen SOX compliance, internal controls, and governance.
- Support internal/external audits.
To Succeed In This Role, You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 17 years progressive finance/technical accounting (public accounting/public company experience).
- CPA required (active preferred).
- Minimum 7 years leadership leading accounting teams and complex close processes.
- Minimum 7 years pharma/biotech/life sciences/healthcare accounting with revenue recognition, gross-to-net, inventory, and/or cost accounting.
- ERP experience (NetSuite preferred).
- Advanced Microsoft tools and financial data analysis.
- Internal controls, SOX compliance, audit support, scalable process design.
