Senior Data Engineer — Translational Data Products

Role: Senior Data Engineer specializing in translational data products within biopharma R&D. Responsibilities include building, operating, and owning end-to-end data pipelines on Databricks and AWS to create governed, AI-ready datasets; working directly with data owners and stakeholders to bring new sources under governance; translating scientific questions into data models and queries; validating data quality through automated tests; engineering infrastructure for reliability and security; supporting machine learning workloads and data deployment; collaborating with cross-functional teams using GitHub-based development and Claude Code. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, 4+ years of experience with large-scale data pipeline development, strong SQL and Python skills, AWS expertise (S3, IAM, Glue, Lambda, ECS, Fargate), experience with containerized deployment, DevOps practices, and hands-on knowledge of life sciences data (clinical, molecular, assay data). Preferred: experience in translational medicine, biomarker sciences, clinical trial data standards (SDTM/ADaM), Databricks platform, omics modalities, extending Claude Code, partnering with ML engineers, and data governance. The role supports innovative biopharma R&D efforts, emphasizing collaboration with translational scientists and data owners, and involves hybrid onsite work with flexible arrangements.
